Assam - Meghalya Organic Muga Silk
Muga silk, also known as Moonga silk, (Assam Geographical Indication (GI), ) is one of the most exclusive, expensive Golden Royal Queen of Silk of the world. In Assam it is a part of women’s clothing known as “Mehelka Sadar.” It is derived from the Muga Silkworm (dates all the way back to the dinosaur age), It is the strongest natural organic fibre known to humankind. It has soft and smooth fabric with high natural golden yellow lustrous in nature. Generally, it requires one acer of forest land to collect 400g of Muga Silk.
Medicinal values: Muga silk contains almost eighteen amino acids that are beneficial to skin. It is hypoallergenic the allergen-free fabric available to human, it delays the signs of aging, by reducing skin moisture loss and therefore stimulates skin regeneration, and alleviates dry, flaky skin issues. it has properties like resistant to dust, fungus, mould, and other pollutants.
